Ingredients

  • 1 tsp liquid matcha
  • 1 tsp matcha powder
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 400 ml almond milk
  • 2-4 KitKats, 1-2 of each variety you prefer
  • A splash of yuzu extract
  • Fresh yuzu zest or finely chopped peel if available
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • A dollop of whipped cream

Method

Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients
  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure your bananas are ripe, as they add natural sweetness and creaminess to the shake.
Step 2: Blend the Base
  1. In your blender, add the almond milk, ripe bananas, and a pinch of sea salt. Blend until you achieve a smooth consistency. This is your creamy base.
Step 3: Add the Flavor Boosts
  1. Next, sprinkle in the matcha powder and liquid matcha. Don't forget the splash of yuzu extract. Blend again until everything is combined well.
Step 4: Incorporate the KitKats
  1. Break the KitKats into smaller pieces. Add them to the blender, and pulse a few times to incorporate them without completely blending them away. You want bits of KitKat throughout the shake.
Step 5: Sweeten It Up
  1. Drizzle in the honey and blend gently. This will adjust the sweetness without overpowering the other flavors.
Step 6: Serve It Right
  1. Pour the milkshake into tall glasses, and don’t skimp! Top it off with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of fresh yuzu zest, if available. Now it’s ready for you to enjoy!

Notes

  • Use Frozen Bananas: For a chill factor, use bananas that have been frozen. This makes the shake thick and creamy without needing ice.
  • Try Different Kits: Experiment with different flavors of KitKat like matcha, sake, or even strawberry.
  • Boost with Protein: Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder for an extra health kick.
  • Garnish Creatively: Get creative with toppings—think sprinkles, more KitKat pieces, or dusting of matcha powder.
  • Adjust Thickness: Depending on your texture preference, adjust the amount of almond milk to achieve the desired thickness.
